The Latvian Ministry of Defence has awarded the Spanish company GDELS-Santa Bárbara Sistemas a contract for the supply of an initial batch of 42 Ascod infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), including logistical support, worth an estimated €373 million.
This IFV, the company explains, is the latest generation and member of the Ascod family of vehicles, adjusted to the specific characteristics of the Latvian Army. The Baltic country chose this armored vehicle at the end of 2024, as published by Infodefensa.com, in an international competition with extensive functional tests by the Latvian National Armed Forces.
